A sale devoted to Asian art, almost all the lots come from the collection of a diplomat who, over the course of his assignments, has built up a rich and sensitive collection, reflecting a genuine cultural curiosity.

Without striving for rarity, this collection stands out for the quality and sincerity of its approach to Asian art: objects chosen by taste, emotion or memory, brought together with care through travels and encounters.

The collection offers an evocative panorama of Asia: Buddha sculptures (nearly eighty works from Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal and Tibet), thangkas and religious paintings , ritual and everyday objects, as well as a fine collection of traditional furniture such as apothecary cabinets and manuscript cabinets.

From Burma, India, Thailand, China, Japan, Cambodia, Tibet, Nepal and Southeast Asia, these pieces tell a story of passion, discovery and attachment to a continent where spirituality and the art of living are one and the same.
