Jade MOULIN - Lot 44
Jade MOULIN Silent rot Year of production: 2019 Material: electric cable, clay, acrylic Dimensions: 70 x 25 x 55 cm Biography, presentation of artistic approach: Born on January 6, 1995 in Saint-Lô, Jade Moulin lives and works in Saint-Lô. "My interest is in things that may seem insignificant, useless or even non-existent to some people. Perhaps with the aim of restoring their value in the eyes of others, or simply out of fear that they will disappear if we don't pay attention to them. Habit is in itself an action that is performed with ease and requires little attention. Because of these habits we miss many moments, these are the ones I try to capture. From the observation of reality and what is anecdotal, I extract and take microevents that as a whole are at work. The banal, the everyday, Maurice Blanchot defined it this way: indeterminacy. That thing which escapes us, in perpetual evolution; the experience of the everyday. It is the redundancy of certain everyday gestures that ends up making them captivating. Like small imperceptible accidents, part of nothing, this everyday life exists only insofar as we lend it this look, only on the condition that we accept to recognize it. By subverting the insignificant, even the insignificant, I am trying to give an account of everyday anecdotes that have caught my attention.
