James PRADIER (1790-1852) Jean-Jacques PRADIER says, The Truth - The Justice Two bronze proofs with a shaded brown-green patina, forming a pair. Signed "Pradier", titled, founder's stamp "Susse Fres" on the base. La Véritée dedicated " To the friend Antoine Bovy ". Antoine Bovy (Geneva 1795 -1877) was a Swiss sculptor and medalist naturalized in France. In 1824, he was taught by Pradier, professor at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. From 1850, with the Monnaie de Paris, he engraved the corners for the minting of 1/2, 1, 2 and 5 Swiss franc coins.
