Jumeau / DEP (registered) 19th / 20th century - Lot 508
Jumeau / DEP (registered) 19th / 20th century
Rare spring-loaded automaton doll with key winding voice system (key missing).
Baby with cast bisque head, open mouth, sleeping blue eyes. Head engraved 10
H_60 cm
The doll moves by means of a mechanism in her bust, with a chain drive system that allows wheels concealed in the soles of her leather shoes to move her forward.
Head intact, mechanism complete but untested
Here, we have an original head from the early 20th century, on a body with Jumeau arms and hands in a Paris Bébé box...
This suggests the use of unused stock when the SFBJ was created.
(sold as is)
Attached is a box base in very poor condition without lid marked Paris Bébé 10.
Note:
A Jumeau advertisement advertised this type of mechanical doll.
