ELIPHAS LEVI [abbé Alphonse-Louis Constant] - Lot 39
ELIPHAS LEVI [abbé Alphonse-Louis Constant] The Mysteries of Kabbalah or The Occult Harmony of the Two Testaments Paris, Emile Nourry, 1920, large in-8, full bradel cloth, 262 pp. Frequent foxing, stamp on title page and repeated in margins throughout, minor old worm damage to first few pages, binding boards pitted. Rare first edition of an unpublished text by Eliphas Lévi, written in 1861 for his disciple Baron J. de Spedalieri, before becoming the property of J. Charrot and, finally, of an early 20th-century occultist whose library was sold in 1916. Profusely illustrated with figures drawn by Eliphas Lévi himself, some in color.
