MARKALE, Jean - Lot 74
MARKALE, Jean An autograph poem signed by Jean Markale 1 sheet (20 x 25 cm), written in pen, black ink, 118 verses, black ink. Signed autograph MANUSCRIT by Jean Markale, with a few figures (small drawings in black) in the text, composed of 23 heterometric stanzas: " ... Par les laboratoires des fous, I rock myself with magnanimous songs, and I trace from shore to shore, sanded with salt, salines of the moon and salines of the zenith, asterisk of blood on a cipher text, the art of fools, the day when God is not the center but the parallel line of molten planets. The Astrologer at the bottom of the crater delineates the sky as a piece of rain-cake. ... " Enclosed, by Jean Markale: Les Grands Bardes Gallois. Preceded by "Braises au trépied de Keridwen" by André Breton. Paris, Falaize, 1956. First edition. "From the high places he haunts every year, between the Fontaine de Barenton and the Val sans Retour, not far from the troubling village of Folle-Pensée, in the heart of the fabulous forest of Brocéliande where Perceval's spear still gleams in flashes, no one was more appointed than Jean Markale to present to you, with all due care, the songs of the ancient Welsh Bards." (André Breton).
