Lequel a servi de base à l'essai sur la théorie du somnambulisme magnétique (A Londres, 1786) Three titles bound in an in-8 volume, contemporary full basane, smooth spine, decorated, XXII, 86 pp. ; XXXII, 256 pp. ; VIII, 206 pp. Binding restored, with various accidents, spine decoration faded. This rare and curious volume brings together three first-edition titles by Jean-François-Damien de Tardy de Montravel, a recognized practitioner of magnetism-based therapeutics. Caillet (10536 for the first title. 101537 and 10538 for two later editions of the second and last titles). Very long notice in Crabtree no. 152 (nos. 161 and 162 for the other two studies) indicates that this work is one of the earliest, most important and most influential writings on magnetic somnambulism. It is cited in virtually all treatises on magnetism published before 1800.
