Jean-Louis L., known as "Ché" (1952-2022)
A native of the Loiret region of France, Jean-Louis L., affectionately nicknamed "Ché" by his friends and family, spent almost forty years visiting the most important comic strip events in France. From Angoulême to Blois, from Évreux to the most confidential specialized shows, he has patiently assembled an exceptional collection, guided by a sincere passion and a true connoisseur's eye.
Renowned for his benevolence, his loyalty to the world of authors and his infectious enthusiasm, he sought out rare editions, emblematic albums and the most coveted dedications with the same exacting standards.
This first sale brings together more than 2,800 works, testifying to the breadth and richness of this collection built up over the decades. Fans will find a remarkable panorama of the 9th art through major authors such as Hermann, Juillard, Baru, Griffo, Servais, Manara, Andreas, Gimenez, Franz, Berlion, Lax and Stalner, who is particularly represented in this collection.
In accordance with his wishes, this collection is now being dispersed under the hammer, in order to pass on to other enthusiasts, both seasoned collectors and long-time fans, the same wonder and pleasure that animated him throughout his life.
The second and final part of this collection will be presented in September.
