(d)FORD Model A torpedo 1931 - Lot 246
(d)FORD Model A torpedo 1931 Serial no.: RPA018431 In 1927, urged by his son to turn the page on the Ford T, Henri Ford reluctantly agreed to launch the Model A, which followed the logic of its predecessor, but incorporated all the progress made by the automobile in almost 20 years. Although its career lasted only 4 years, from 1927 to 1931, no fewer than 4.9 million Ford A models were assembled. It was the car of maturity, certainly less daring than the Ford T, but much more comfortable and easy to drive. Despite high production levels, the "Rod Custom" craze of the 60s and 70s decimated the Ford A population, giving the surviving examples, which had not been transformed or slaughtered, an added value. This beautiful torpedo is presented in perfect restored condition, both in terms of bodywork and mechanics. The black imitation upholstery and soft top are also in good condition. The engine has recently been restarted. Spark plugs, condenser and ignition were overhauled and upgraded on this occasion. Over the last 6 years, the invoice file confirms serious and regular maintenance. The mechanics are in good working order, but will require a safety overhaul before being put back on the road. The vehicle is complete with jack and crank, stored in the boot under the rear seat. The purchaser will be given a set of documents and historical works relating to the model. It should be noted that the two translucent windscreens on either side of the windscreen are made of Plexiglas, in keeping with the otherwise excellent general restoration of the vehicle. Six flexible side windows with storage pockets. The vehicle is registered as a collector's vehicle. Bringing America into the thirties, the Ford A is also a symbol of the Prohibition years, of the America of Al Capone and Eliott Ness, but also of the rods and custom cars of the time of Elvis and James Dean! Now it's your turn to write a page in its history. Expert: Mr Dominique Pagneux (CECOA Expert) (d)Lot sold by appointment - Visible only by appointment with the SEQUANA team.
